Storytime- Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
Join Patty to hear stories and sing songs all about eggs. You will also make a "cracked egg" craft and have a snack. Families are welcome.
L.A.F. Library Afternoon Fun- Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
April and the kids will be painting bookmarks. We will be playing fun games and have cheese crackers for a snack. Kids in grades K-5th.
Movie Day- Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
Spy School will be shown. Parents are welcome and popcorn is provided.
Night-time Storytime- Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Same fun, just at night!

TRY A NEW ADVENTURE

I can't believe it's time to start thinking about summer reading already! The ALPL is preparing for this years program "Get Creative @ YOUR Library". We need names for our two different reading groups: picture book readers and chapter book readers. It needs to be something related to creativity, crafts and/or books (ex. Crafty Kid). HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY
Lá Fhéile Pádraig Shona dhuit. In Irish, I have written "Happy St. Patrick's Day to you". Called "the happiest day on the Irish calendar", it celebrates the life of the patron saint of Ireland. It is a national holiday in Ireland and North Ireland; however, many cities of the world commemorate this day. If you wish to know more about St. Patrick or wish some ideas for celebrating, the Albert Lea Public Library has some books to help you.

Animal Intelligence
Alex & Me is the story of Irene Pepperberg, a scientist, and her pet African Grey Parrot Alex. Alex and Irene 30 year relationship defied conventional thought and wisdom - Alex's intelligence was shown to be above what was thought possible for a bird. He could sound out words, count and understood the concepts of "more" and "less." The day he died, the last two sentances he spoke to Irene was "You be good. I love you."
NON-FICTION BOOK CLUB
The non-fiction book club will meet Tuesday, March 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the Information Library. Led by Library Director, Peggy Havener, they will discuss The Blue Zone: lessons for living longer from the people who've lived the longest by Dan Buettner. This should be a very interesting read and discussion, as Dan Buettner recently visited Albert Lea to announce it has been chosen to participate in a City Health Makeover sponsored by AARP, Blue Zones and United Health Foundation. New book club members are always welcome!!
